“Waialua Kai Leo Nui: Conversations Across Generations.” Native American and Indigenous Studies Association – June 2021

The North Shore Ethnographic Field School was given the opportunity to present at the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association’s annual conference. This year’s theme for the conference was “Indigenous Conversations Across Waters, Lands, Generations, and Imaginations.”

Kumu Ty Kāwika Tengan, head of the North Shore Field School, was invited to present as part of the Garrod Research Seminar hosted by the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, University of Cambridge.

The North Shore Field School worked in partnership with the Center for Oral History at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa as they hosted a public event featuring a panel of guests from the Waialua community.
